Hollywood Director James Toback is the latest man in Hollywood to be accused of sexual assault.
Los Angeles Times reports that thirty-eight women have come forward with their own stories about sexual harassment. The women describe “meetings framed as interviews or auditions quickly turned sexual” with Toback asking “humiliating personal questions.”
Much like Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein, Toback was a big Hollywood man with a reputation. He has been a writer/director since 1974. Media profiles often referred to him as a womanizer, but as Los Angeles Times reports “underneath that were much darker rumors of creepy behavior, reported in 1989 by Spy magazine and, more recently, by Gawker.”
According to the 38 women interviewed by Los Angeles Times, the scope of Toback’s behavior was far more serious.
